ATQ Apprentices

A school-based apprenticeship or traineeship is a way to start your career whilst still finishing high school. You work one day per week as an apprentice (on the job training) and go to training one day per week (off the job training).

You get paid for any time that you spend working. The training that you get will be credited towards a full-time apprenticeship once you finish school.

One of the advantages of beginning a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship is that you start your career whilst completing your senior studies.

Once you have completed your school studies, students can then continue on in their apprenticeships full-time, so when all your friends are looking for work, you have the security of knowing that you already have a job and two years into your apprenticeship.

How It Works

When successful, you will then be assisted with an industry placement with one of our current employers where you will gain exposure to the industry of your choice.Industry placement can be either 1 day per week or a 1 week block, this is negotiated with your school contact and yourself and the school liaison officer from All Trades Queensland.
When you complete year twelve, you will simply continue your apprenticeship and have the option to take it on at a full-time capacity.
