Apprentice Completed: Tyson Golds
Apprenticeship Completion: August 2017
CSQ Internship: July 2013 – September 2013
Workforce Officer: Mick Hatzakis
Tyson Commenced his apprenticeship with All Trades Queensland in September 2013. It followed his successful participation and graduation of a Construction Skills QLD (CSQ) Internship program.
CSQ in partnership with All Trades Queensland ran a series of targeted ‘intership’ programs to address a number of issues confronting employers and aspiring apprentices. It aimed to improve the quality of apprentices, match supply with skills demand and tackle the 43% drop out rate for apprentices. The program was designed to combine multiple skills sets from the Building, Electrical & Engineering fields. The results were a higher standard of ready made apprentices to assist the industry with retaining a fit workforce for the future. Tyson was one of over 100 successful participants in 2013/14 who went on to commence an Apprenticeship with All Trades Queensland.
Tyson’s field officer Mick, describes him as “one of his most requested apprentices. A true character on site with a can-do attitude”. Last week marks the culmination of Tyson’s journey and pathway to successfully completing his Carpentry Apprenticeship.
